1926 Sesquicentennial Pair of Bookends. The bookends are in the shape of the Liberty Bell, each with different raised lettering. The top support beam on both are detailed, in metal, the wood grain and facets for the bell attachments to the beam; the body of the bell is etched with ridges on the top and bottom. One bookend has within the top ridges "Philadelphia MDCCLIII" with "Proclaim 1776 Liberty" on the side of the bell. The crack in the Bell is heavily visible between the one and seven of 1776, and the L and I of the word Liberty. The other bookend has written within the top ridges "The Old Liberty Bell" with "Sesqui 1926 Centennial" on the side. The backs are open. They are made of iron. Size: Each is 5 1/4" wide by 6" tall by 2 1/2" deep. Condition: Extremely Fine.
