1893 World's Columbian Exposition Badge with hanging Aluminum Medal Eglit #560. At top is a brass bar with a raised image of an eagle. Hanging below is a red, white and blue ribbon with "Dedication of the World's Fair Chicago 1892" with a picture of Columbus in the middle. The hanging medal Obverse: Standing figure of Columbia holding ribbon with "Columbian Exposition Chicago USA" inscribed on it. In left hand is shield of the United States. She is standing in front of the Horticultural Building. On base below shield "1893". Reverse: Landing of Columbus scene in full detail. Around "Columbus Discovering America". At bottom "1492". Size: 1 1/2" diameter by 5 3/4" high. Condition: Very Good. The writing on the ribbon is faded and the ribbon is separated from the top bar, has a hole in the center and there is residue of glued at the bottom of the ribbon. The medal is Very Fine with some dark areas.
