1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition
Sterling silver spoon with the image of the "Alaska Bldg." embossed in the bowl with "A.Y.P. Expo." written above. Decorating the handle from top to bottom: Stars, the "Seal of Alask" (the last 'a' is over the edge and never existed) picturing the seal, "The Summit" picturing a train traveling over a bridge, a miner's pick ax, shovel and pan, and finally a totem poll with "Alaska" written above. On the back of the handle from top to bottom: Pictures of a "Family of Huskies", "Skagway", and a "Dog Team" pulling a sled and a man. At the bottom are the initials "HDK", "Sterling" and "MB" with cross pick axe and shovel. All the images on the spoon relate to Alaska. This was 50 years before Alaska became a state. Size: 4 1/8" long by 7/8" wide. Condition: Extremely Fine, a little wear to the handle.
