Lot # 1 - Soup Tureen. Blue Staffordshire type china from the 1851 Crystal Palace. The lid has 2 pictures of the outside of the Crystal Palace. Lift the lid and the inside bottom of the tureen pictures the inside of the Crystal Palace with the girders and several people. A very rare piece from this fair. Size: overall from bottom to top of finial, handle to handle: 11 3/4 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches deep and 7 inches tall. Condition: Good. There are 2 chips in the lid and several chips on the interior bottom. There are also a couple of chips on the bottom, a couple of small chips under the rim of the bottom piece and some popping of the glaze on the side of the bottom in one spot (see photo) and a 1 inch hairline crack. The is also some browning of the crazing lines on the lid and more browning inside the bottom of the tureen. This piece displays well and would be a great addition to any collection.

Lot # 2 - Jewel Box. Oval Beveled Glass Reverse painted top brass jewel box with multicolor picture of the Main Building at the 1876 Centennial Exposition. The foreground of the picture is walkway filled with fair visitors and the background is the sky. There is mother of pearl below the building that reflects behind the windows of the building. There is a decorative design in the brass sides of the box. Condition: Near Mint. The reverse glass painting is in beautiful condition (You will hard pressed to find a nicer reverse glass box from 139 years ago). The design in the brass is in wonderful condition with only slight color variation is a couple of small areas. The inside cushion is worn in the middle. Size 3 1/4 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches deep by 1 1/2 inches high.

Lot # 3 - Plate, Commemorative. 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition. Cream colored souvenir ceramic plate with blue rim and blue/green lithograph drawing of the Memorial Hall in the center. Printed in raised letters around the outside rim of the plate "Our Union For Ever/Centennial." Stamp on the reverse side is trademark logo for "E.M. & Co.." Size: Depth: 8.25 inches Condition: Fair (Significant crazing and dark brown staining on the reverse side. Some flaking of finish visible around the raised edges on the front.)

Lot # 5 - Brass dish with reverse painted picture of "Government Building Chicago Exhibition 1893". Size of the dish is 4 inches in diameter and 3/4 of an inch high. The reverse glass portion is 2 7/8 inches in diameter. Condition overall is very good. The brass has some dents and could use a good polishing. The reverse painting has some discoloration on the bottom right edge and a few flakes in the sky. The picture of the building is bright.

Lot # 6 - Book. "Report of the Board of World's Fair Managers of Maine. 1895". The 37 pages of text in this hardcover book includes the Final Report, Treasurer's Report, Summary of Classification of Exhibit Account. There are also 17 pictures of the building, exhibits, "World's Fair Managers of the Maine" ( 9 men and 8 women) and Governor Burleigh. Size: 9 1/4 inches tall by 6 inches wide with over 50 pages of pictures and text. Condition: Very Fine, the cover has a few spots and the binding is a little dented at the top and bottom. The inside is excellent.

Lot # 7 - Demitasse Cup & Saucer. Beautiful and rare china Satuma Cup and Saucer with gold paint and enameled white flowers. Pictures Fisheries on cup and government building on the saucer. Size: Saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter. Cup is 1 3/4 inches high by 3 inches wide including handle. Condition: Near Mint.

Lot # 8 - Sterling Silver Spoon. Pictures ship in the shovel shaped bowl. "Columbus" and stars and stripes Shield with eagle on top is pictured on the handle. "1492" and "1892" is also written on the handle. The back of the handle says "Chicago" "Columbian Exposition" and pictures the government building and the liberal arts building. Also says "sterling" and has 'Keil' etched very small on back of bowl. There is also a maker mark that has 3 little boxes with an 'R' in the middle box and it looks like a star in each of the end boxes. Size: 5 3/4 inches long and bowl is 1 1/8 inches at the widest point. Condition: Excellent, there is a little wear on the handle.

Lot # 9 - Paperweight. Multicolor reverse painted paperweight of the "Administration Building" at the "World's Columbian Exposition 1893". Size: 2 5/8 inches by 4 1/8 inches wide by 3/4 inch thick. Condition: Very Fine. The backing is completely intact, but there is a little paint chipping in the upper right hand corner and the lower left hand corner. Still much better than what you see at shows these days.

Lot # 15 - Booklet in the original envelope with cancelled 1 cent Trans-Mississippi stamp. Envelope says "Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition. Omaha, June to November 1898. Department of Publicity. Bee Building." and pictures the "Administration Arch.". The booklet is printed in Green, the cover says "Trans-Mississippi International Exposition Omaha 1898". The booklet contains 32 pages with several pictures of buildings at the fair. Size: 5 7/8 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches high (envelope: 6 1/8 inches high by 9 1/4 inches wide). Condition: Good. The envelope has a tear, the cover has part of the top ripped off. The pages are separated and there is rust staining around the staples. Still a very rare booklet.

"This very unique building, erected by the Knights of Maccabees, is located just west of the Forestry building, and is best approached by way of the walk leading south from the U.S. Government building. The building is about 30 x 30, and on its western end has been erected a square tower, giving the structure the appearance of a miniature castle. Lot # 44 - Salt and Pepper Shakers. Milk Glass Salt and Pepper from the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, both with a metal top with an embossed decoration. One pictures the "Palace of Machinery" other pictures "Palace of Electricity", both are marked "Souvenir St. Louis 1904". Size: 2 1/4 inches high by 1 1/2 at the widest point. Condition: Excellent. Machinery building one has a couple of small nicks in the transfer near the words at the bottom.

Lot # 46 - Flow Blue Vase. This rare vase pictures the 'Palace of Machinery'. Marked on bottom 'The World's Fair, 1904 St. Louis MO U.S.A. with 'R&M Co.' logo underneath. It is 9 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 4 inches deep. Condition: Good, because the top of the vase has been broken and repaired as shown in the pictures. Otherwise, the vase is very presentable and would look great on the shelf. The value estimates are based on the damage, Hendershott lists these style vases at $1200-$1800.

The first attack from the Indians occurred within a fortnight and resulted in a victory for the Colonists./In 1619 the first legislative assembly in America was held at Jamestown, and here in same year slavery was first introduced into the original thirteen colonies.

To commemorate the 300th anniversary of Henry Hudson's first trip up the river that bears his name, a memorial bridge is to be erected at Spuyten Dyvil, New York, crossing the Harlem River. It will of re-enforced concrete, 2870 feet long, 80 feet wide and of 725 feet high [above tide-water], with a central span of 725 feet. The upper story is to have a roadway 50 feet wide and two walk for pedestrians, having a width of 15 feet each; four rapid transit tracks will be laid on the lower story. The "Clermont", designed by him, was the first steamboat to make a successful trip. She was 133 feet long, 18 feet wide, 9 feet deep and 160 tons measurement. Fulton died in New York City on Feb. 24th, 1815, and is buried in Trinity Courtyard, where in 1901, a granite monument with a bronze medallion was erected by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Printed on reverse side, top left corner: Brooklyn Bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the largest suspension bridges in existence, and one of the wonders of the world. It spans the East River, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The bridge was designed by John A. Roebling, was begun January 2nd, 1870, and opened for traffic May 24th, 1883. Its construction cost $15,000,000; subsequent improvements increased this amount to $21,000,000. The towers are 278 feet above high-water, the channel span 1,595 1/2 feet, the width 85 feet.

Printed on reverse side, top left corner: Madison Square. A public park of about six acres, bounded by Madison and Fifth Avenues and Twenty-third and Twenty-sixth Streets. In it are statues of Chester A. Arthur (twenty-first president of the U.S.), Roscoe Conkling (Senator, 1867-81), ex-Gov. Wm. H. Seward, and the memorial to Admiral Farragut by Augustus St. Gaudens. There is also a drinking fountain presented by Catherine Lorillard Wolfe. The tower (368 feet high) is that of Madison Square Garden, which contains the largest amphitheater in America.

Lot # 186 - Spoon. 1915 San Diego's Panama-California Exposition. Small souvenir shell spoon with faint writing in the bowl of the spoon. Held onto a piece of cream cardstock in the original box with green ribbon. On the cardstock, above the spoon is printed "Abalone Shell Spoon" and beneath it "No. 405/2 Souvenir." Original box is a two piece white box with an oversized postage stamp on the top and right side. The postage stamp has several buildings against a dark blue background with "San Diego Exposition" in the upper left corner and "1915" in the lower right corner. Lot # 187 - Multicolor tin picturing "H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, K.G." on the top and "Imperial Stadium" on front, "the South African Pavilion" and "The Indian Pavilion" on one side and "The Australian Pavilion" and "The New Zealand Pavilion" on the other side. This side also has in small print "Reg. No. 703775". On the back is pictured "The Canadian Pavilion" and "The Oriental Bridges". This tin gives a nice representation of what the fair looked like. Size: 4 1/8 inches tall, 4 inches wide by 2 7/8 inches deep. Condition: Very Fine. The tin has bright unfaded colors, but has some scratches that do not detract from the presentability of the tin, but keep it from being given an excellent condition.

Lot # 188 - Banner. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Dark blue banner, rectangular in shape, hanging vertically from the dowel, with yellow/gold writing and cloth surrounding the wooden dowel, giving the banner support. The dowel is made of a light wood and forms a point at the ends. The banner itself contains a picture of the Liberty Bell in its center (writing is visible upon the bell as well as the crack), on the left side is the year 1776, on the right the year 1926. At the top of the banner, above the Bell reads "sesqui centennial"; below the Bell reads "welcome to Philadelphia" The banner comes to an inverted point in the center of the cloth on the bottom. Accenting the cloth on the dowel is a yellow/gold string for hanging, and a tassel on the left and right side.
The banner is maintained in clear, plastic, covering.

Lot # 189 - Bank, Still. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Lead souvenir bank in the shape of the Liberty Bell. The top of the Bell is decorated with open, metal, loops. The body of the Bell is detailed with ridges at both the top and bottom, and the opposite sides are both engraved in block lettering. One side, top to bottom: (within the top ridges) Philadelphia MDCCLIII; proclaim; (large numbers) 1776; liberty. On the opposite side: (within the top ridges) the old liberty bell; sesqui; (large numbers) 1926; centennial. The crack of the Bell is visible on the "1776" side between the one and seven.
The slot for monetary deposit is located on the left of the "1776" (.063" wide x 1.5"tall); there is a flathead nail located between the 17 and 76 for unscrewing the bank; a crack for opening the bank is visible separating the bank in two even pieces, front and back; the bottom is also fitted for opening. Each page folds out to reveal more information. This booklet seems to be sponsored by the Pennsylvania Railroad, for when opened, it reads: Inasmuch as one-half of the entire population of the United States is found in the territory served by the Pennsylvania Railroad and its branches, this premier transportation system, equipped with highest type trains operating on quick convenient schedules, affords the most advantageous route for a majority of the people to Philadelphia-the Sesqui-Centennial City."

Lot # 192 - Clip, Paper. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Long, metal paper clip/bookmark fastened with a dime-sized head, then extending downward, with the look of a letter opener. The body is flat, reflective surface, and two thin openings are present on the left and right sides to allow the paper to be marked for reference.

Lot # 195 - Box. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Wood and metal box- rectangular in shape- the outer panels are metal with a dark wood grain appearance accenting them; these outside panels are further lined with thin, dark strips of metal. The inside of the box and its underside is light wood, except for the underside of the lid. This is fashioned with a piece of paper protected by glass; it is a miniature rendering of the Declaration of Independence along with the forty-eight signatures, in black, cursive ink. Fastened with two, wide hinges at the back, the lid opens; on the right hand side, a metal hinge is found that further secures the lid to the box- this hinge is visible only when the box is opened as it recesses into the box itself when the lid is shut. The top of the lid is decorated with a print surrounded by a dark brown cardboard border. It is labeled in black ink and block letters: signing of the Declaration of Independence souvenir sesquicentennial international exposition 150 years of American independence 1776 Philadelphia 1926.
The print is in soft browns, blues and cremes of the famous signing with the forty-eight signers present in chairs, and the presentation of the Declaration. This print on the lid is protected by glass.
The front of the box is fastened with a metal lock in the square form, with a metal button.

Lot # 196 - Application, Registration "High Street Old Philadelphia" . 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. A rectangular paper booklet which folds out to reveal, drawn in brown ink, replicas of buildings and historically important venues within Philadelphia between 1730 and 1790. Included is an application for visitors from various organizations to register with the Women's Committee. There are five panels total, four are renderings of the buildings with detailed descriptions on the back, and the fifth is the actual application. The paper is a cream color with light brown ink, forming the descriptions of the street and buildings which are in block style lettering, and the cover is titled as follows: High Street Old Philadelphia 1730 - 1790; underneath in the center is the symbol for the Exposition (the Liberty Bell with top support beam, in the left side the year 1776, on the right 1926, above reads: the sesqui-centennial Philadelphia; below the Bell reads: 150 years of American Independence; On the bottom of the cover reads: reproduced by The Women's Committee Mrs. J. Lot # 199 - Lamp, Electric. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. -Electric lamp- glass in the shape of the Liberty Bell, the glass of the Bell is clear, with metal (brass,copper) upper/support beams, and rectangular base. The Bell and top support beam are fastened to the side beams but are mobile- therefore the Bell and upper beam can swing back and forth. The glass Bell is fitted the crack of the Liberty Bell and on the upper portion of the Bell reads in block, capital letters: pass and stow philada. m.ccliii. Lot # 200 - Pin. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Metal pin, shaped in an open, ribbon-like pattern, forming the look of a cross. It is worn vertically. The bottom edges are decorated with little tassels, revealing the metal edges of the tassles. Details of the metal in the ribbon are present. In the center is a glass covered, bubble-like button. Inside this centered button, is found off center : a small, metal, Liberty Bell. On the left side of the Bell in blue is the year written vertically: 1776, on the right of the Bell in blue, also written vertically: 1926. On each section of the metal ribbon is a faux gemstone set in four, worn down, prongs. Lot # 201 - Pin. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Button-like pin attached to a metal bell via a faded red, white, and blue ribbon, placed into the under rim of pin. The pin contains a thick, blue outer border, then a thin red border is found within. The body of the pin is white with a gold and green Liberty Bell in the center. In red ink on the left side of the Bell is the year 1776; on the right in red ink is the year 1926. Lot # 202 - Pin. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Dark metal pin, in two sections. The top section of the pin is accented with an eagle whose wings are spread and bears a shield at its breast. The shield is of stars at the top, vertical bars and stripes on the bottom. Holding in its talons on the left side are leaves, on the right, arrows. The eagle sits atop the support beam of the Liberty Bell. There are four vertical metal bars extending downward from the eagle onto the top beam. One vertical bar is visible on the far right of the support beam. In raised metal, block letters, the support beam reads: 150 years of American independence. On the back of this top section is fastened the straight pin for attachment to garments. There is a small hook for the straight pin and at the opposite end is a loop for resistance. The second section of the pin is the body of the Liberty Bell, connected to the top via a small, metal, loop. Lot # 204 - Print "Spiritual and National Consciousness" 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Gold Medal Certificate issued to Kinney Company for Shoes. Wood framed print- of board material with kardk grey and white pictorial artistry. There are five renderings altogether with the largest and widest (presented horizontally) in the middle, top portion. On either side is smaller, thinner (presented vertically) renderings. Below the middle rendering, center, are the following words in block lettering of various sizes:"The Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition Philadelphia-Pennsylvania June 1st- December 1st 1926 Celebrating one hundred and fifty years of American independence the jury of awards has conferred a gold medal upon G.R. Kinney Company, Inc., for shoes." Present are four signatures set in pairs on either side of the writing just noted above. Below the first signature on the left side reads: president; below the second: director-in-chief. Lot # 206 - Novelty. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. A palm-sized sea shell which is white on the bottom, with dark brown spots lining its base. The top section is a soft pink with browns. Labeled in dark paint the top reads the word "MAY" ; Below this, center, in raised material (perhaps the same as the shell) reads the year 1776, then a carving of the Liberty Bell, proceeded by the year 1926. Below this is another raised inscription reading: "Sesqui-centennial." The ridges of the shell are prominent on the underside of the shell, are wide and vertical. There are ridges present on the top of the shell, though these are finer, and also vertical.

Dark wood toy blocks in the shape of furniture-packaged together they form one large block but can be taken apart and fit back together. Packaged in four-sided cardboard, each side is individually labeled. In no order they are as follows: 1. a picture of each piece of furniture is individually shown and include six chairs of varying sizes, three varying sized tables, and one bench. 2. Lot # 208 - Novelty. 1926 Philadelphia Sesquicentennial International. Lead souvenir Liberty Bell atop a platform. The top support beam is detailed with the facets for the attachment of Bell, and grains of wood; the four side support beams are decorated with leaf patterns on the top and bottom, these are in the shape of an upside-down "Y." At the bottom of the Bell on the left and right side is a small, blank rectangle, resembling a plaque. The upper section of the Bell is fitted with multiple ridges and engraved in the center is the year 1776. The crack is visible on this side at the left. On the opposite side is engraved the year 1926. The platform base is square and engraved on all four sides with the same metal material in block letters. The handle (which has a upward curve edge) from top to bottom: An eagle in flight carrying the American flag; a banner reading In God We Trust; two horses on their hind legs facing each other, with a sail ship in between, atop this is a small eagle with spread wings; three banners which read respectively virtue, liberty, independence; a rose with two leaves; Pennsylvania. From "Durkee Famous Foods, Inc." who gave away these plastic pieces featuring a picture of buildings with 'Chicago World's Fair' 'from The Durkee Company' on the front decal and paper label on the back. Condition: The paper labels are excellent of both with a little age browning, the decal on the 'Cinnamon' is mint and the decal on the 'Black Pepper' has a little decal edge damage and a small scratch in the sky, very fine. Size: coffee pot: 8 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep. Sugar bowl: 4 1/4 inches high, 4 1/2 inches wide, 3 inches deep. Creamer: 2 7/8 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches deep. Condition: Excellent overall. The lid on the coffee pot has been broken and repaired (see photo). There is some crazing in coffee pot and sugar bowl. There is slight wear to the blue edging (but I am being fussy).

Published by "The Saalfeild Publishing Company" "Akron, Ohio" Pictures the Trylon and Perishere along with children wearing the clothes featured inside the box. The doll's clothes have mostly been neatly cut out, but there are still some partial sheets remaining. The set contains 9 children figures with bases. The box makes a super display piece. Box Size: 11 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches. Condition: There is some wear to the box with apron separated at one corner and bottom of box has one apron completely separated (apron is in the box). The paper clothes are clean and extremely neatly cut out.
