6 Volume set "The Crystal Palace", "London Printing and publishing Company". This is Tallis 's History and Description of the Crystal Palace and the Exhibition of the World's Industry in 1851; Illustrated by Beatiful Steel Engravings, from original Drawings and Daguerreotypes, by Beard, Mayall, Etc., Etc." These volumes contain over 100 Illustrations of everything from the exterior of the building to statues and exhibits. Hundreds of pages of descriptions. If you want to be an expert on the 1851 fair, these volumes are a must. Size: 8 7/8" wide by 11 1/8" high. Condition: Overall I would say they are fine although there are brown spots on most of the pages and the spine is missing from 2 volumes and the cover is off on one of those. There is spine damage on the other 4 volumes and one has tape on the spine and some of the spine cover is missing. These volumns are a true rarity and an important addition to any collection. $ 300 *
China Plate with a Blue Transfer with image of the Crystal Palace. The border pictures branches, leaves and grapes(?). There are people in the foreground and clouds in the sky. Size: 8 1/2" diameter. Published in London by George Newbold, 303 & 304, Strand, W.C." This is a bound version of a multipart booklet (I believe published in 8 parts) about these peoples adventure at the Fair. The book is 242 pages and contains at least 6 pages that fold out and show illustrations of the fair and parts of London. Size: 8 7/8" high by 6" wide. Condition: Fair, the spine cover is completely off, although part of it is included and the back cover is separated and there are spots on a few pages. $ 20
