1893 World's Columbian Exposition
Lauer Vision Cristobal Colon - Gilt Brass, 27mm
This is one of four versions at 27mm that is rarely offered for sale in English, reading "World's Columbian Exposition 1893" on the reverse. The other three earlier versions are from Spain and the reverse reads "Recuerdo Del 40 Centenario 1892". Each has a slightly different wreath and bow design. This version is listed as Eglit 549, Starlust ST-eg-549. An R-7 which we grade as MS-61. All styles have strong reverse wreath strikes but weak type. This version could almost be classified as low profile. Color is nice with agreeable luster. Provenance - Steve Starlust Collection.
