1939-1940 New York World's Fair Glass Platter with Silver Overlay and handles. In the center is the Trylon and Perisphere surrounded by "New York World's Fair" with "1939" at the bottom. Around the center are flowers, butterflies and blades of grass. On both sides are handles. "Sterling" is marked in a flower stem at 6 o'clock. Rare. Size: 11 3/8" diameter and 13 3/4" across handle edge to handle edge. Condition: Very Fine. The silver has light tarnish and the overlay is missing from one blade of grass at 5 o'clock and from 2 ends of grass blades.
