1893 World's Columbian Exposition World Globe Dollar - Aluminum, 44mm Here's a super nice example of this popular medal. Well struck with highly reflective surfaces. The obverse features the globe with a view of the fair in the foreground. The reverse has a crisply struck World Globe, and Landing of Columbus in America. Struck in two different thicknesses, a thin planchet 2.5mm and this example of the thick planchet 3.5mm. Listed as Eglit 9, Starlust ST-eg-9a, HK-174, and Shevlin SH 6-31. A relatively common R-3 which we grade as a strong MS-65+. Provenance - Steve Starlust Collection.
