With the theme of 'World of Tomorrow', this fair was the first World's Fair to look into the future instead of just displaying man's achievements up to the current time.

 Tram with engine, driver and 1 car made by Arcade Toy Co. The engine has 2 decals both picturing the greyhound jumping over the Trylon and Perisphere with "Greyhound" written above. Next to the decal is "New York World's Fair". On the back of the engine is a decal "An Arcade Toy". There is one car with an orange and blue canopy. The seats are orange and the outside is blue with silver sides. This toy is a replica of the tram that took people around the fair grounds. Size: 7 1/2" long by 1 3/4" wide by 2 3/16" tall. Condition: Very Fine. The decals on the side of the engine are missing a little at the top. The engine has some paint loss where the orange meets the blue on the top. 7 tires are browned and one tire is white. (This toy was originally sold with 1 or 3 cars).

 Set of 3 "Jig-Saw Picture Puzzles on Plywood in the Original Box. The box top pictures the Trylon and Perisphere and is also marked "Souvenir New York World's Fair 1939". "Manufactured by Joseph K. Straus Brooklyn, N.Y." the top is also marked "No. W. F. 16". Inside are 3 puzzles: one is the "Trylon and Perisphere"..."At Night" "WF5", "A View of Constitution Mall WF15", and "Textile Building New York World's Fair" and "WF-14". Size: The box is 10 7/8" wide by 5 3/4" high by 3/4" tall. Each puzzle is 5 1/4" by 3 5/16". Condition: Puzzles are Near Mint. The box is only Fine due to soiling and tears along the apron edges (no part of the apron is missing).

 "Junior World's Fair Police" Badge with the Trylon and Perisphere in the center and an eagle at the top. The badge is gold colored with blue stars around the edge, blue lines on the eagle's wings and blue behind the T&P. The words 'World's Fair" and "Police" are written in orange. In small letters at the bottom is "© N.Y.W.F." and Patent info. Size: 1 5/8" wide by 1 5/8" high. Condition: Very Fine, there is some wear in the center.

 Small Lenox Vase or Toothpick Holder in salmon color china with embossed white Trylon and Perisphere on one side and eagle on the other side. The bottom is marked "Officially Approved N.Y.W.F. Inc. Lic.", "1789", "1939", "Lenox made in U.S.A. Designed in Honor of New York World's Fair Ovington's New York" Size: 2 1/2" diameter by 2 3/4" tall. Condition: Excellent.

 Cup And Saucer in orange with a blue Trylon and Perisphere with "New York World's Fair" written around the Perisphere. On the bottom is marked with a license number and "Japan". Size: Saucer is 5 3/4" diameter. Cup is 4 3/8" wide from edge to end of handle by 2 1/4" high. Condition: Excellent.

 Perfume Bottle in the shape of the Perisphere on an orange Bakelite stand with a white plastic Trylon next to it. This Rubenstein perfume has a paper label the goes up the bottom sides of the Perisphere. One rising side has "Trylon" on it the other has "Perfume" on it. Around the base of the Perisphere the paper label reads "New York World's Fair" and "two drams". There is no perfume although you can still smell the perfume. The Perisphere is silver. The bottom of the base has a raised round area in the center that keeps the base from sitting flat. (I am not sure why it is there, maybe the user was supposed to remove it as part of the method to open it. Either way it is definitely original.) Size: 1 3/4" wide by 1 3/4" deep by 3 1/8" tall. Condition: Extremely Fine. Very minor damage to the paper label and the Perisphere leans toward the Trylon (you may be able to push it back, but I not going to do it) and the Trylon is a little bent at the top.

 Music Box Powder Box with Celluloid top picturing the Trylon and Perisphere with "New York World's Fair 1939 / 40" written above. The box is a silver color. The song that the music box plays is "Easter Parade". Size: 5 7/8" diameter by 3 1/2" tall. Condition: Overall Very Good because 2 of the legs are missing and have been replace with push pins. The Celluloid on top is Excellent, but there are lots of spots on the silver finish. The music plays well and sounds fine.

 Brass Disk with raised writing and images. Around the edge is "United Hatters, Cap & Millinery Workers International Union" for the "3rd Biennial Convention at New York World's Fair May 20, 1939" (written in the center) with 2 Trylon and Perispheres on the side of the writing in the center. Above the writing is the Union's logo. There is an original hole at the top for hanging. Rare. Size: 4 1/4" diameter. Condition: Excellent.

 "Plan of Districts", "Showing Locations of Treasury and Operating Field Offices", "New York World's Fair 1939". This is a map of the fairgrounds showing the layout of the grounds and buildings with the Truck entrances clearly marked. In the lower left corner is "Private Property of the New York World's Fair 1939 Incorporated. This Map is Not to be Published or Reproduced in any Manner.", "Prepared by Treasury Division Methods and Planning Dept.", "February 15, 1939". Size: 17" wide by 9 1/4" high. Condition: Extremely Fine, a few light creases.

 Pop Up Post Card, lift up the card and the Trylon and Perisphere pop up in front of the fairgrounds going back to the Court of Peace and the International Buildings. The official US Postage Stamp is attached and cancelled, but the card has no address and was never mailed. The cover pictures an aerial view of the Fairgrounds. Size: 6 1/2" by 3 3/4". When open, the T&P stands 4 9/16" tall. Condition: Extremely Fine, a little edge wear.

 Book, "New York World's Fair Licensed Merchandise" from the "Merchandising Department", "New York World's Fair 1939 Inc.", "Advance Edition". This paperback book contains the list of Firms Officially Licensed as of October 25, 1938. The first half has the licensees organized by the type of souvenirs, for example: "Foods", "Household Appointments", "Maps", "Toiletries" and so many more. The second half of the book are full page advertisements from some of the companies showing some of their souvenirs, some have prices, all have contact information. This is a fabulous reference book of souvenirs along with company information, something you don't get when you just buy the souvenir. I have never seen this book before and I consider it quite rare. 95 pages. Size: 7 3/4" wide by 10 3/8" high. Condition: Excellent but there is a little damage at the top of the spine.

 Children's Book - "Trix the Runaway Monkey", part of "The World of Tomorrow Series". "Copyright, 1939, by New York World's Fair 1939, Inc." The subtitle is "A social studies story book about shelter". This is a story of a monkey who runs away and ends up at the Fair. The book is filled with color pictures. Read this book to your child and start them early on the road to collecting World's Fair. Size: 6 1/8" wide by 8 1/4" high. Condition: Very Fine, a little wear to the edge of the cover and a little light soiling of the cover.

 Badge for the "Order of Rainbow Girls". The top bar has an insert "New Jersey" and on the blue ribbon in gold writing is "World's Fair July 17th 1939". Rare. Size: 1 7/8" wide by 4 3/8" high. Condition: Fine. The ribbon is mostly separated from the top bar, only held on by a dozen strands or so. The button at the bottom is Excellent.

 Brass Medal. Obverse: Pictures the top of the Statue of Liberty in an oval with "New York World's Fair" above and "1939" next to the torch. Below is "Welcome to the American Legion convention 1937". Reverse: Pictures the Trylon and Perisphere with "Hi Buddy see you in 1939". Size: 1 1/4" diameter. Condition: Very Fine with some surface wear and a few small dark spots.

 Baseball cap "New York World's Fair", "1939" with picture on the front of the cap of the Trylon and Perisphere sitting on the top of an outline of the top of globe. Brim is orange felt. Top of cap is blue and orange. Size: child size cap - inside is approximately 6 3/4" diameter. Condition: Fine the cap is soiled overall and some wear on the inside.

 Small Baked Enamel Charm of the Official Flag of the fair. In the center is the Trylon and Perisphere with blue on both sides. On the back in raised letters is "Official 1939", "New York World's Fair". Loop for hanging is original. Size of the charm: 1/2" wide by 3/8" high. Condition: Excellent.

 1940 "Season Ticket" number "5726 S" in the original black holder. The ID card pictures "H B Bushman" and there are 20 tickets left, most of the tickets were used. Size: Open folder is 9 1/4" wide by 2 7/8" high. Condition: Extremely Fine, slight corner wear to the holder and age toning to the ID card.

 Ticket Stub for "Radio Day", "October 13th". At the top of the ticket is "The World's Fair of 1940 in New York", "Special Bargain Combination Ticket", price 50 cents. The maximum value is $ 1.50. The ticket is number "74747" On the back is a list of 16 exhibits that you can enter for no more than 20 cents. Size: 3 1/4" wide by 2 1/4" high. Condition: Excellent, but it is just the stub, the entrance ticket has been removed.

 Entrance ticket, Orange color "Adult" Ticket "New York World's Fair", "50c" for "June 4th". The ticket is numbered "256002" and stamped 'Sample". On the back is the Trylon and Perisphere and "1940" in large letters. Size: 2" wide by 1 1/8 high. Condition: Would be Excellent except there is glue residue on the back.

 Entrance ticket, Beige color "Adult" Ticket "New York World's Fair", "50c" for "Aug. 18th". The ticket is numbered "320006" and stamped "Sample". On the back is the Trylon and Perisphere and "1940" in large letters. Size: 2" wide by 1 1/8 high. Condition: Would be Excellent except there is glue residue on the back.

 "Specimen" Ticket Booklet includes "General Admission" and "Winter Wonderland or Gardens on Parade", "Good only June 5 American Association of Industrial Physicians and Surgeons Day". The booklet includes 10 coupons worth 5 cents each toward the admission to other attractions. The coupons have the same number as the tickets on the cover. There is also a back cover to the booklet. Holes have been punched through the ticket numbers. The number is "L 234541". The ticket cover is over-stamped "Specimen". Size: 6" wide by 2 1/4" high. Condition: Near Mint.

 Blotter, "All's Fair on Lee Tires" with the Trylon and Perisphere on the left in the foreground. In front and running toward the back is a road with 2 cars on it and in the background, in the upper right corner, is the Tower of the Sun. They are implying that you should drive from one fair to the other on their tires. Colors are blue, yellow, brown and red with a white border. Size: 6 1/4" wide by 3 1/2" high. Condition: Very Fine, some corner wear, worst is upper right.

 Flip booklet advertising "Bromo-Seltzer". Booklet is double sided. When flipped one way it is "A Reel Story of Real Relief". The other side is a Hawaiian hula dancer. After trudging through the New York World's Fair his head ached something terrible!. Also has testimonials from Don Budge "a leading tennis player in the world" and Gene Sarazen , a golf champion. Size: 1 7/8" wide by 2 1/2" high. Condition: Very Fine, the covers are soiled, but the inside is nice and clean.

 Folded paper Souvenir. The outer piece is a thin green cardboard (or thick paper) with the Trylon and Perisphere and "New York World's Fair 1940" printed on the outside with small copyright. Open it up and there are 6 pieces of paper folded and tucked inside each other piece. I don't know if something came inside the last piece of paper or if the point was to give it to someone as a gift and have it be empty or maybe a dollar bill was to be hidden inside. The back is marked "From: C. Peters, New York World's Fair" with "No 10471". Uncommon. Size: 5 1/2" wide by 3 3/4" high. Condition: Very Fine, the outer paper has some creases and wear to the edges.

 Small Drum Charm Pin with attached drum sticks. One face of the drum is a brass disk with the Trylon and Perisphere in the center with "New York World's Fair" written around the edge, all surrounded by blue paint. Size: The drum is 3/4" diameter by 11/16" tall. Condition: The pin is missing, otherwise Extremely Fine, a little ware to the T&P disk. The drum and sticks are Excellent with a little toning of the metal.

 Lithographed pin from "Gas Wonderland New York World's Fair". It pictures a red and white flame on a blue background. Size: 3/4" diameter. Condition: Extremely Fine, tiny spot on edge and a couple of tiny chips in the surface.

 View-Master Reel of the fair in the original paper holder. The reel is marked "88 New York World's Fair I". The reel has 7 color stereo pictures including "Speed", "Avenue of Flags", "Polish Tower", "Freedom of the Press" with the Trylon and Perisphere next to it and more. Will play in any View-Master player. Size: Reel is 3 1/2" diameter each. Condition: Very Fine, a little soiling on the edge of disk and soiling and light wear to the cover.

 "Movie Shots" Order Form in the original envelope. The card states "Your Picture has just been taken", "See how you look IN ACTION! Send for the most unusual and natural picture ever taken of yourself." The card is numbered "9100 P1" and includes the stub you retain for your records when you send in the card for your picture. There is even a place for you to hook in your quarter. Size: 6 1/2" wide by 3 5/8" high. Condition: Excellent with some toning of the paper.

This document was "Prepared by the EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE SERVICE of the Department of Public Education", "Science and Education Building". It lists the pavilions with a brief description of their exhibits. Size: 8 1/2" wide by 11" high. Condition: Excellent.

 3 page typed document "Directory of Applied Arts Exhibits" on World's Fair stationery with the Trylon and Perisphere at the top in orange along with "The World's Fair of 1940 in New York", "For Peace and Freedom". This document was "Prepared by the EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE SERVICE of the Department of Public Education", "Science and Education Building". It lists the pavilions with a brief description of their exhibits. Size: 8 1/2" wide by 11" high. Condition: Excellent.

 Typed Page, "World's Fair Buildings", "Feeders". The page contains 4 columns "No.", "Name", "Primaries" & "Secondaries" (sic). The name column is filled with many of the fair's building names. The Primaries column has numbers in them. The "Government" is at the bottom. Typed on tissue paper. I am not exactly sure what this page was about, but it must have been an important list at the time. Size: 8 3/8" wide by 11" high. Condition: Fine. Corner damage, light water stain, wrinkles and rust stain from a paper clip.

 Flyer advertising "An Unforgettable Spectacle... Consolidated Edison's City of Light on the Plaza of Light at the New York World's Fair". The text, which is only on the back, continues to describe the exhibit and that it is "less than a minute's walk from the Trylon and Perisphere". The front pictures the New York Skyline, probably from the exhibit. Size: 5 7/8" wide by 3 5/16" high. Condition: Excellent.

 "National Highway Transportation Digest", "World's Fair Edition 10 cents", "Maritime, Transport and Communications Buildings" with the Trylon and Perisphere on the cover with "1940" on the Trylon and the Perisphere has a map of the US in the center with 2 trucks and around it "Service Safety and Goodwill", "From Coast to Coast". There are 2 arches extending from the Trylon both with trucks on them, each with a letter on the side spelling out "HIGHWAY", "EXHIBIT". Inside are 86 pages with everything you want to know about trucking (Ford V-8 Tractor Truck), the trucking industry (Large fleets owned by private shippers). Again there is just loads of useful information in this booklet. Size: 7 3/4" high by 5 7/8" wide. Condition: Excellent.

 "Guide to the French Pavilion and to the France - Overseas Pavilion". This booklet contains 40 pages of information and black and white photographs. There are several floor plans of the 2 pavilions. There are 17 full page photographs. Originally the booklet cost 5 cents. Size: 5 1/4" wide by 7 1/2" high. Condition: Very Fine. There is wear and creases in the cover, but the inside is nice and clean.

 Booklet, "The Argentine Republic", marked on the back cover "Argentine National Committee, New York World's Fair, and Golden Gate International Exhibitions, 1939". This 48 page booklet tells all about Argentina including the "Public Buildings", military, "Iguazu Falls", crops, ports and so much more. Size: 8" wide by 8 7/8" high. Condition: Very Fine. Pages seem to be darkened and it is folded down the center (The same was true for the other one of these I had, so maybe it was distributed that way).

 GM "Futurama" booklet that includes pictures of the Futurama's dioramas along with the text of the audio that you hear on the ride. The dioramas were designed to show what the future will be like in 1960. This 24 page General Motors booklet is printed in black and white. Size: 8 3/16" wide by 7" high. Condition: Excellent, slight wear to spine.

 Folder, "Your Guide to General Motors Highway and Horizons Exhibit", "New York World's Fair 1939" printed in black and white. Inside is a drawing of the whole building and grounds describing it as "A Fair Within A Fair" and identifying 16 different things to see. Size: 4 5/8" wide by 8 1/2" high. Condition: Fine. There is a crease that is cracked in the lower right corner and most of folder's cover is darkened.

 Folder from the "Town of Tomorrow" at the "New York World's Fair 1939" featuring the "Demonstration Home No. 21", "The Motor Home". This short 4 page folder contains information about the design of the house, as well as the sponsors and their products that are on display in the model home. Front page has an illustration of the house and the blueprints of the floor plan. Printed in blue and green on a white paper. Size: 7 1/8" x 10 1/4" Condition: Very Fine. There is a 1/2 tear at the bottom (both pages) and a few light stains at the top (both pages).

 Folder from the "Town of Tomorrow" at the "New York World's Fair 1939" featuring the "The Electric Home No. 18", "Sponsored by General Electric Company". This short 4 page folder contains information about the design of the house, as well as the sponsors and their products that are on display in the model home. Front page has an illustration of the house and the blueprints of the floor plan. Printed in blue and green on a white paper. Size: 7 3/16" x 10 1/4" Condition: Excellent with a couple of tiny light spots at the bottom.

 Folder, "Chile a Friendly Country". The folder tells how their pavilion "should commemorate the goodwill and wholehearted cooperation" between the US and Chile. The folder opens to 4 panels that tell about all the great things about Chile and what you can do when you visit. The back has a map showing the location of the Chile Pavilion. Size: 3 13/16" wide by 9" high. Opens to 15 3/8" wide. Condition: Very Fine, a little corner damage.

 Fold-out brochure "Things to See at Highways and Horizons". It includes a brief description of the General Motors exhibit. In the center is a map of the 1940 Fair grounds with the buildings in 3D. Size: Closed: 5" wide by 7 13/16" high. Open: 10" wide by 14 1/4" high. Condition: Fine, a horizontal crease in the center an a 3/8" tear on the right side.

 Folder, "Metropolitan New York 1939", "4 Minute Crossing" map of bridges and tunnels into Manhattan. Fully open is a road map of metropolitan New York that shows the location of the fair. It also shows how to get from the Lincoln Tunnel and the Washington Bridge to the fairgrounds. Published by the Port of New York Authority. Size: Closed: 4" wide by 9" high. Open: 12" wide by 18" high. Condition: Very Good. There is damage in the lower right corner of the front that goes through all the pages.

 Folder "See the Hit Show at the Fair" with performers standing on an old locomotive on the cover. Inside it opens to 6 panels with "'Railroads on Parade', the Greatest Show at the Greatest Fair". Open it once and it shows published reviews of the live stage show. Open it again, to the full 6 panels, and it shows pictures from the performance. On the back is a map of the fairgrounds with the outlines of each building and a red line from the gate to the Railroads on Parade show. This is different from the RR on Parade folders I have sold in the past. Size: Closed: 3 3/16" wide by 6 1/4" high. Fully Open: 9 3/8" wide by 11 1/2" high. Condition: Excellent.

 Pocket-size, 5 panel fold-out advertisement for the Greyhound bus tours of the Fair; includes descriptions of 5 tours with prices. When fuuly open, the back is a map of the Fair and bus stops. This is printed in Blue with some orange. Size: Closed: 2 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" high. Open: 12 3/16" wide by 9" high. Condition: Very Fine. A 1/2" tear on the seam, a small rough spot on the back and overall toning of the paper.

 Unused Postcard folder "New York World's Fair" with a vignette of "Inside the Perisphere" and a small "© N.Y.W.F." on the cover. The back pictures the Trylon and Perisphere, the Glass Building and a laser light. Inside it opens to show 18 color pictures of the fair buildings. The number on the inside is "F-4". Size: 6 1/8" wide by 4 1/4" high. Condition: Extremely Fine, slight corner wear.
